Preventive Medicine offers Natural Hormonal Therapy for men and women. Dr. Rathod has developed special testing plans to determine the appropriate hormonal therapy that is right for the patient. Natural implies that the hormone used is an exact replica of what your body produces. Balancing hormone levels involves monitoring symptoms and lab values. Imbalances can be caused by poor choices in nutrition and from not addressing other crucial hormone impacting factors such as: thyroid, stress, toxic emotions, as well as lack of time spent nourishing ourselves through quiet meditation, spiritual growth, and thoughtful exercise.
“In a constant quest to find the missing link of properly synchronizing the communication of our hormones, I came across T.S. Wiley through conferences and by reading her books, “Sex, Lies, and Menopause” and “Lights Out.” I believe that this approach helps to re-connect hormone cycles to nature. Contrary to conventional hormone replacement therapy, doses are rhythmic and never static. This symbolically reflects the cycles of the sun and moon as they affect the earth and our bodies. The Lunar (moon) Cycle is actually the basis for the Lunar Calendar in this protocol.”
Dr. Varsha Rathod, M.D.
Overview of The Wiley Protocol
Below is a basic overviw of the Wiley program at Preventive Medicine:
1. First you must see Dr. Rathod in an office visit to determine a need for hormones.
2. After the decision to start The Wiley Protocol, you will need to schedule an orientation visit with the nurse. A script for your hormones will be faxed after completing your orientation with the nurse.
3. It is required that you read “Ageless” by Suzanne Somers and “Sex, Lies, and Menopause” by T.S. Wiley. These books will familiarize you with the key ideas of hormone replacement therapy, and the Wiley Protocol.
4. If you have further questions or concerns, please write them down and schedule an office visit or phone consult with the nurse. Appointments range from $25.00 to $50.00.
5. Two weeks after starting the Wiley hormones it is recommended you follow-up with the nurse to review the program and symptoms you may be experiencing.
6. Three months after starting The Wiley Protocol (unless otherwise instructed) you will have your labs drawn on “Day 12” and “Day 21.”
7. When we receive your lab results we will call you to schedule a 3-month follow-up visit with Dr. Rathod. You will need to bring in your calendars for her to review.
8. Once you are stabilized (which can take approx. 6 months), you will have your labs re-drawn and be seen in an office visit approximately every 6 months.
