Digestive & Intestinal Health

Digestion is a complicated process that begins the moment food enters your mouth until the time any remaining waste products are excreted from your body.  Digestion requires acids, enzymes, optimal pH,  properly functioning support organs (liver, gallbladder, pancreas), healthy intestinal bacteria and an intact stomach and intestinal lining.  When the whole process is working properly ingested food is broken down into its smallest components and nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream.  These nutrients provide energy and building blocks for your body and brain.

When the digestive process is not working, any number of symptoms can occur.  Symptoms may include abdominal pain, increased gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation,   reflux and ulcers.  Long standing digestive problems can lead to nutritional deficiencies causing persistent fatigue and a compromised immune system.  Depending on the individual, one of several specialized tests may be recommended based on the digestive complaints.  These results are analyzed and shared with you to build a customized plan to restore long-term digestive wellness.
