2. Can I get specialty labs drawn at an outside facility (ex. Quest, Labcorp, hospital)?
3. If I do not have insurance is it cheaper for me to get my blood drawn at Preventive Medicine or go to an outside facility (ex. Quest, Labcorp, hospital)?
4. What happens when my lab results come in?
You have the option of having routine blood work drawn at Preventive Medicine or an outside facility. For your convenience, routine labs may be drawn at Preventive Medicine. All costs will be discussed prior to being performed, you would pay at the time of service and receive an insurance claim form for possible reimbursement. You also have the option of getting your routine labs drawn at an outside facility such as Quest, Labcorp, or local hospital. The outside facility will bill your insurance company and any payment issues would be directly between you and the outside facility. We want you to choose the best possible option, therefore, we encourage you to check with your insurance company to see what is best according to your plan.
No. Specialty labs are done at Preventive Medicine. The specimens are sent to specialty facilities to process. This type of testing is usually not available at outside facilities such as Quest, Labcopr, or local hospitals.
Routine lab charges at Preventive Medicine are very competitive to, if not lower than, outside facilities. On some of our tests we do offer panel pricing, which is typically lower than an outside lab. However, we always encourage you to check with outside facilities to compare costs.
When we receive results we will either mail a copy to you with Dr. Rathod’s notated suggestions on the lab or we will call to schedule an appointment to review the results.
